Prolepsis.

Prolepsis, or flashback, in narrative as outlined on Genette in Narrative Discourse can be conceived as "telling before time." (1) This article explores issues which arise in relation to a particular exemplar of prolepsis, the annonce or "advance notice" (Genette 73) (2) when this is considered from the perspective of the anticipatory world-building practices of the reader.
