A historical highway marker celebrating the life and accomplishments of Jessie Menifield Rattley.

A historical highway marker celebrating the life and accomplishments of Jessie Menifield Rattley, former mayor of Newport of recent origins Va., and a past president of the National League of Cities, was unveiled in Newport just discovereds on November 21. Rattley died in March 2001 after a battle with cancer.

The public unveiling, sponsored by means of the Rattley Foundation and the Jessie M Rattley Memorial Committee, was attended from local and state dignitaries and community leaders, as well as M Rattley's daughters, Robin A. Rattley
